This month, the spotlight falls on Margarette, the Digital Marketing Specialist at Yempo. In this role, she oversees and manages the digital marketing aspects of Yempo from social media conceptualization, newsletters, and blogs, as well as researching different and new innovative ways that can lead the team to deliver leads and sales. Read on to get a glimpse of Margarette, her work, and the bright spots of working at Yempo.
Can you describe your role at Yempo?
As the digital media lead, I work not only on the production aspect: creating images and content for social media platforms, blog layouts and images, and newsletter templates, but I also liaise in creating digital creatives like brochures, and onboarding packs, and PowerPoint presentations. Aside from these, I also do admin stuff like creating monthly reports and research, as well as hosting some of Yempo’s virtual gatherings.
How long have you been working here?
I started working at Yempo in March of 2019, almost three years and 4 months now.
What can Yempo employees contact you about?
Yempo employees can contact me if they have any concerns about our social media content, monthly newsletter, and blogs.
Can you share any latest projects you’re working on in 2022?
We have an ongoing promotion for all aspiring applicants who want to join Yempo which started last April 2022. Wherein all successful applicants who apply from April to June of 2022 will get a chance to have a whopping 45K Apple Gadget Pack, isn’t that amazing? The Recruitment and Marketing team works hand-in-hand for this project to be successful and my role is to effectively deliver the message of our promo to all our social media platforms. With 31 new hires for the month of April 2022 alone, this is considered a successful breakthrough for Yempo as well as for our team.
What do you love most about your job?
There are a lot of things to love about my job. The company, my friends, and colleagues to say the least. But one thing I appreciate especially in this pandemic is the care and safety Yempo provides to us. We have been given trust and the opportunity to work in the comfort and safety of our homes. That is a privilege. I am truly grateful we get to work and provide for our families during these hard times.
What are your strongest skills?
This is not a skill but rather a mindset. I can say that me being positive in all ways may it be at work or in my personal life helps me to function and stay composed under pressure. Being on the marketing side of the company, I engaged in different criticisms, comments, and suggestions, and having a positive outlook helps me to always look on the brighter side as I know it will help me to generate beautiful graphics and content.
What was a challenge you experienced at Yempo and how was it solved?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve experienced in Yempo is when I transitioned from an employee of Social Media Solutions to being part of the Yempo Admin Team under Recruitment and Marketing. At first, it was a handful of work as I will be the sole marketing staff of Yempo but with my new team’s support and Michelle, our CEO, being hands-on throughout my transition, I can now say that I am confident in handling every project and tasks that they entrust with me.
What do you like best about Yempo’s culture?
What I like most about Yempo’s culture is the monthly gathering, which is not only a source of fun and entertainment but a way for us to enjoy each other’s company regardless of our cultural and work differences.
Which core value (commitment, excellence, community) is the most important to you? Why?
I would say commitment and excellence are most important to me. If you are committed to the deadlines and committed to the quality of work you provide to your co-workers and clients, it will create a better and more productive work environment.
Where do you see your career 5 years from now?
I see myself still in the field of digital marketing, but on a much higher scale.
Do you have quotes, advice, or mottos that you follow that might inspire other Yempo employees?
Have courage and be kind.
