Employee Spotlight: Malou

A client-facing role is rife with challenges, not least of which are managing unpredictable client demands, the pressure of time, and not having the response to an inquiry, among others. It also has great rewards, which keep Malou motivated and filled with purpose.

Read on to the learn more about Malou, her work’s challenges, and what she loves most about it.

Can you describe your role at Yempo?

I am a client-facing Senior Accounts Staff supporting our client. My role is to continuously deliver excellent support and assistance to the team and work on business development. I work under the Finance Department, focusing on Accounts Receivables (AR). My responsibilities include setting up the customer account in our system, reconciling bank transactions, payment receipt entries, and other related-AR tasks.

How long have you been working here?

I have been working at Yempo for 4 years and 1 month. Time flies so fast that it seems like only yesterday that the PG team started.

What can Yempo employees contact you about?

Yempo employees don’t normally contact me for assistance since my major role is to support to our client, but I am more than willing to assist whenever needed. My job includes calling customers for payment collection, processing client invoices, answering queries, and providing support and assistance within the organization.

Can you share any projects you are working on in 2020?

I am currently studying how we can improve the process of uploading invoices onto one of our customer’s portals. I recently completed the basic training session with them.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my job is the fulfillment of finishing my tasks in a timely manner. It keeps me motivated every day. Aside from working the day shift, I also love collaborating with people who have the same level of commitment for successful outcomes. Work-life balance contributes a lot for me to love what I am doing.

What are your strongest skills?

I consider myself flexible and adaptive to any type of environment. I can interact well with a wide range of people throughout the company.

What was a challenge you experienced at Yempo and how was it solved?

I was faced with a challenge when we moved from our AppleOne office to the current location in Oakridge. The former location seemed to offer many conveniences, being just a short walk away from the Ayala Malls and the public transportation hub. In the new office, transportation is quite limited. Changing my perspective helped me adapt to these challenges.

If there is any real challenge, communication is vital.

What do you like best about Yempo’s culture?

For me, the most important core value is commitment. It allows individuals to meet their goals and be motivated. Excellence and community will then follow.

Where do you see your career 5 years from now?

I still want to be working at Yempo, serving my client, and actively participating in charitable events.
