Our Client
In this role, you will be assigned to one of our UK-based clients, a manufacturer and distributor of quality performance wear for brand-conscious corporates. They focus on aligning workwear with your brand to boost brand exposure, enhance staff morale, reduce sick days, and inspire your team to proudly represent your brand.
About the Role
To manage the company’s purchase ledger function, ensuring that all supplier invoices are accurately processed, approved, and paid on time. The Accounts Payable Officer plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team.
Your Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and approval in line with company policy.
- Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices (3-way matching).
- Chase invoices that do not have purchase order (PO) references to ensure timely processing.
- Maintain supplier accounts, ensuring statements are reconciled monthly.
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs (BACS/cheque).
- Handle supplier queries promptly and professionally.
- Send the updated purchase ledger and supporting documents to external accountants on a monthly basis.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including accruals and prepayments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for audit and compliance purposes.
