Bookkeeper

Our Client 

In this position, you will be assigned to our client based in the US, an IT consulting firm (Managed Service Partner) located in Manhattan focusing on NYC-based small and medium businesses.   

Your Role 

The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and financial management, and will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, reporting, and analysis for the organization. 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger entries 
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements 
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements 
  • Manage cash flow and monitor bank accounts, ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external accountants and auditors for tax preparation, audits, and other financial reviews 
  • Oversee and manage the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. 
  • Implement and maintain financial management software to streamline bookkeeping and reporting processes 
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the leadership team, enabling informed decision-making 
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives 
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required 
  • Working directly with our CEO to help grow the company 

Your Background 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; a professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is preferred 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping and financial management, preferably in an MSP or technology-based organization 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as local, state, and federal tax regulations 
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
