Functional Test Analyst

In this position, you will be assigned to our client, a Sydney-based company providing global port logistics solutions.  They develop and maintain a suite of tailored and integrated products to help streamline operations, enhance efficiency and optimize productivity throughout the supply chain. Their customers include shipping lines, port and terminal operators, freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, trucking companies, rail operators, importers, and exporters.

Your Responsibilities:

You are required to test all software products to ensure they meet the quality standards and match what the client has requested. You will work closely with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure testing compliance is within agreed standards for the successful delivery of the project. Perform trend analysis of problems and issues to implement proactive testing solutions and techniques for the projects and provide estimates for test resources. 

  • Writing test plan/strategy, test scenarios/cases, RTM, test data, daily test reports, and required documentation for the projects 
  • Review the requirements for testability and consult with stakeholders as necessary and identify of the scope of testing 
  • Conduct a review of test cases for coverage and consult with stakeholders as necessary 
  • Ability to provide accurate testing estimates 
  • Perform and manage internal and external customer engagements to provide support and expertise to help new customers and existing customers interface and use the 1-Stop Applications 
  • Assist in clarifying functional specifications to allow for more efficient development 
  • Test execution of different testing phases: System Testing, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, Usability Testing, and Production Release Testing; Ensuring delivery of the highest quality standard 
  • Raise and conduct defect/bug triage and replicate production issues in the test environments to provide detailed information for the development team to resolve issues 
  • Participate in the standardization and continual improvement of the testing processes and methodology 
  • Mange the knowledge base repository for applications under your responsibility 
  • Documentation of system support procedures, changed business rules, updated technical guide based on the bugs, tasks, or enhancements 
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and excellent analytical skills 
  • Executes tests in SIT, UAT, Prep, and Production (as necessary) environments, which may involve one or more of the following: 
    • System Integration Test (SIT) 
    • Regression Test 
    • Smoke/Sanity Test 
    • Exploratory Test 
    • Other functional tests as requested by business 
  •  Participate in scrum ceremonies along with other scrum team members, including: 
    • Sprint Planning 
    • Grooming 
    • Technical Solution Discussions 
    • Daily Standups 
    • Sprint Retrospective 
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail 
  • Assisting in the project quality reviews for your assigned applications 
  • Other duties as directed from time to time 

Your Background:

  • Required Skills 
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in all areas of SDLC 
    • 5+ years of experience as a Software Tester / Test Analyst 
    • Experience in API or Web Services testing 
    • Agile – Scrum/ Kanban experience 
    • Experience in conflict-resolution, applied at both customer and internal level 
    • Understanding of testing tools like Zephyr, JIRA, or QC 
    • Strong experience with SQL queries with SQL Server or Oracle 
    • Systems Integration testing (functional and technical) 
    • Experience in Waterfall and Agile methodologies 
    • Strong QA skills: planning, exploratory testing, defect reporting, and troubleshooting 
  • Desirable Skills 
    • Test automation experience with Selenium will be preferred 
    • Experienced in automation, preferably Cucumber, Selenium, or TestNG 
    • Experience in Java programming using Eclipse or IntelliJ 
    • ISTQB Certified 
    • Experience in API or Web UI automation 
    • Experience in microservices testing is strongly preferred
