Our Client

In this position, you will be assigned to our client located in the UK. This healthcare specialist business is focused on developing and implementing technologies and services to reduce the risk of patients, staff, and the public acquiring infection in clinical and non-clinical environments. It is trusted by over 40% of UK National Health Service Trusts.

Your Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the mechanical design of new products
  • Implementation and testing
  • Oversee the product from early stages to complete manufacture
  • Reactive resolution of any mechanical issues
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers
  • Be involved in cross-functional new product development process
  • Proactive improvements to product design
  • Managed project design packages for new products
  • Adherence to the company management systems and QHSES responsibilities as defined within the overview and context of the organisation document

Your Background

  • Formal training and knowledge in SolidWorks and CAD are essential.
  • A degree or qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline with some relevant work experience.
  • Experience in design and engineering for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Experience in creating designs incorporating electronic subsystems and the collaboration between eCAD and mCAD.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Experience designing electromechanical components and sensors.
  • Experience in generating supporting documentation, e.g. assembly instructions.
  • Knowledge of different manufacturing techniques, e.g. sheet metal forming, injection moulding, vacuum casting, rapid prototyping, etc., and an understanding of when to use them and their design constraints.
